Stone circles are found all over the United Kingdom, but only in the North East of Scotland do you find circles with a recumbent stone flanked by two vertical stones.  They date back 3500 to 4500 years ago.

The North East of Scotland is also blessed with standing stones , Pictish stones, and hill forts
